We are excited to share with you an article in BROADBAND COMMUNITIES that showcases Centennial Village and College Court Townhouses, two student residences at Olds College, as the magazine's property of the month.
The articles talks about the new Centennial Village development, replace an aging dormitory with a new, state-of-the-art building that would house 450 students with additional capacity for an additional 192 students in the College Courts Townhouses. This development provides access to on-campus housing options to approximately 50 percent of Olds College's student body during academic years and increases its capacity to host conferences and community meetings during the summer.
State-of-the-art meant providing students with the best acedemic experience possible. A crucial requirement, the students said, was a good internet connection. In addition to having the usual level of interest in gaming and entertainment, the students had educational needs for internet access. Every student at Olds is issued an iPad, and class assignments usually have an online component. O-NET's fibre-to-the-bed deployment ensures the best connectivity in Canada for students.
The CHOC (College Housing Olds Co.) selected O-NET to be the internet service provider for 3 key reasons;
1. High quality of Service. “No one could come close to the level of service that O-NET could provide”
2. Being a local community oriented buiness. "We appreciate that they’re a local community group. That made them even more appealing."
3. The fastest in Canada. “O-NET was the first company in Canada to offer gigabit residential and business services, and Olds College was the first college to have gigabit service."
